SRPC History: How did we get here?
The Seneca Regional Planning Commission held their organizational meeting on January 10, 1995. Resolutions were passed by the Cities, Villages, Townships and Commissioners to participate, pay assessments, and appoint representatives to the thirteen-member board. 100% participation by all entities continues and is the key to SRPC’s successes. Some of those successes includes: Standardized Rail Crossings; creation of the Seneca County Park District; development of Subdivision Regulations, Construction Codes, and a Comprehensive Land Use Plan; and ratification of numerous sewer/revenue sharing agreements.
